The Basics:
This
is one of Barry M's Lip Paints which are described as “a
shade to suit every occasion from soft, shimmering pastels to bold,
vibrant colours. All Lip Paint's have a soft, smooth texture that is
packed full of natural moisturisers to help them glide on and stay
comfortable to wear for hours.”
however the Touch of Magic comes with a special twist “[the]
waterproof formula with aloe vera, lasts up to 8 hours.
Alkali level of your lips determines how pink the colour will go.”
It's certainly unique and eye catching. One of those things I decided
was amazing when I was a teenager and still haven't changed my mind,
it only took me a few years to get around to buying it!
Swatches:
Overview/Opinion:
As with all Barry M lip paints this
comes in a square tube with a lovely soft matte black finish. Very
smart and chic. The green lipstick is certainly striking and while I
can't promise you'll get the exact same colour as me it does change
to a very bright pink, perfect for spring/summer brights. I really
loved the colour as a great colour pop or bold everyday shade if
you're brave. Application was easy and smooth and the lipstick didn't
feel drying in the slightest, which is a major problem for me. It
wore a lot like a stain, but a moisturising one. It also lasts for a
long time without any fade, most due to the staining properties. If
you swatch this on your hand and give it enough time to stain you'll
have a job getting it off even with makeup remover (when swatching I
did this last because it was problematic to remove). It is much
easier to remove at the end of the day when it's been fading though
(assuming you didn't reapply), which I guess is when most people take
off their makeup!
Positives:
Looks super cool
as a green lipstick and the colour change effect is awesome, lasts
ages (3+ hours), sleek packaging. Passed food & drink tests.
Negatives:
Stains and is a pain to take off if you haven't worn it all day or if you reapplied. Fades unevenly giving an attractive lip liner look, bleeds a little and stains any imperfections around mouthWhere to Buy:
Barry M is available to buy in store
at Superdrug, Boots and most major supermarkets. You can also
purchase from their website

How have I never seen this?! Ahah when I clicked on your review I was like someone has made a lipstick that green?! Hahaha. It actually looks lovely on you :) & I love how everyone gets a different shade. Shame about it bleeding though, I hate when lip products do that!great review though lovely xxx
ReplyDeleteThankyou =)
DeleteTo be fair, a green lipstick would be pretty cool. Just maybe not for every day xD. It's fun to watch people do a double take when you get it out though!
HA! This is awesome :D I've never seen anything like it, I'm going to go check it out now!
ReplyDeleteit's really cool. I feel so childish but seriously, magic!
DeleteWhat a cool lipstick! That shade looks lovely on you, but it's a shame it fades unevenly.
ReplyDeleteThanks :). It didn't seem as obviously uneven a fade last time I wore it so I'm not sure what I've done differently =S
